Daniele Piscopo is a multifaceted artist active in opera, visual arts, and stage direction.
Born in 1986, he graduated from the “A. Frattini” Art High School in Varese, earned a degree in Art History from the University of Milan, a degree in Decoration from the Academy of Fine Arts in Carrara, and a Master’s in Opera Directing from the Verona Opera Academy.
As a baritone soloist, he completed advanced studies at the “Centro Placido Domingo” of the Palau de les Arts in Valencia and has performed in renowned theatres such as the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, and the Fondazione Arena di Verona.
After his singing career, he developed a strong focus on stage direction and design, collaborating with numerous Italian and international institutions. He made his directorial debut with Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda (Spazio Teatro 89, Milan), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Teatro Rendano, Cosenza), and the world premiere of Respighi’s Al mulino at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste, where he also designed the sets, costumes, and lighting. In recent years, he has worked regularly with the Teatro Pérez Galdós in Las Palmas, where he created the sets for Manon Lescaut and La Gioconda, and directed Un ballo in maschera, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Fedora, Aida, Rigoletto, Tosca, Il matrimonio segreto, Il tabarro/Le villi, and Don Giovanni. In Spain, he also directed Aida in Córdoba and Romeo et Juliette and Aida in La Coruña. In Italy, he collaborated with Teatro Coccia in Novara (Il giovane Artù, Biancaneve in tour), in Switzerland with the Ticino Musica Festival (Il barbiere di Siviglia, La Cenerentola, Il matrimonio segreto, Rita, Il campanello), and in Luxembourg with the Sequenda Festival (Il barbiere di Siviglia, Così fan tutte). In 2024, he made his debut in South Korea at the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul with a production dedicated to Maria Callas and Giuseppe Di Stefano, for which he created the direction, libretto, set design, and projections. Upcoming projects include L’elisir d’amore and Turandot in Las Palmas, La bohème for Ticino Musica, and Gianni Schicchi for the Sequenda Festival in Luxembourg.
Alongside his musical career, Daniele Piscopo pursues an intense activity in the visual arts — painting, sculpture, graphic design, and photography — developing a personal artistic research that interweaves image, gesture, and music into a unified expressive language. He has exhibited his works at the International Forum of Culture in St. Petersburg, in the exhibition Accademia Italia, representing the best students of Italian Fine Arts Academies, and participated as an invited artist in the 2025 Rome Art Week, the contemporary art week of Rome.
